Charging

We recommend placing your Spectacles on charge and checking for any updates before pairing to ensure the best experience.

To turn your Spectacles on, press and hold the right temple button for 3 seconds and release.

Once your device is booting up, you will see the Spectacles logo followed by the Snap logo before the Lens Explorer opens. If you are coming back from sleep mode you will be taken directly to the Lens Explorer.

If your new Spectacles are running low on battery, you may not be able to pair, capture new videos or import captures you’ve already taken.

Charge your Spectacles by plugging the Charging Cable directly to them and a USB-C power source. You can find the charging port on the end of the left arm of your Spectacles, and the arms should be open when charging. When you start charging the LED on the front of your Spectacles will pulse and then turn off.

You can check the battery level of your Spectacles in the Spectacles App. You can also check your battery and other settings by looking at the back of your left hand. You’ll see your Bitmoji, the time, the strength of your Wi-Fi connection and the battery level. Tap the circle to open up the status screen where more information is available and additional options.

You can ‘quick charge’ your Spectacles up to 50% in just 15 minutes.

When your glasses are first placed on charge the LED on the front of the glasses will pulse. Once the battery has reached 100% your Spectacles will stop charging automatically.

Still not charging?

Make sure the charging ports and connectors on the Spectacles are clear from dust or debris. Even if you don’t see any LEDs, leave the Cable connected to the Spectacles for at least 20 minutes. It may take some time for your glasses’ LED to light up.

If they still aren’t charging, try a different power source or wall outlet.

If your glasses are not showing any signs of charging after 20 minutes, please try a Hard Reboot.

Keep in mind, your Spectacles and its accessories are not waterproof or water-resistant. Please don’t expose them to any conditions which may allow water or other liquids to come in contact. Spectacles are designed to operate between 32 and 96F (0 and 35C). Do not use Spectacles if the temperature is outside this range.

Note: Don’t attempt to remove or replace the battery of your Spectacles. This could damage the battery, which could lead to overheating, fire, and injury. Since the product was designed for safe removal of batteries at end-of-life by a waste treatment facility, be sure to recycle them separate from your household waste according to your local environmental laws and guidelines. You can also reach out to our support team who will be happy to provide support for recycling through our partner.

Tethering

When tethering Spectacles to a power bank, or other charging source, the battery may still deplete if it uses energy quicker than it can charge.
