Viewing photos and videos in 3D
Your photos and videos captured with Spectacles (also known as “Snaps”) will wirelessly import right into Snapchat. You can find them by swiping up to Memories, and tapping on the ‘Snaps’ tab. Snaps will import and automatically sort themselves based on when and where they were taken, starting with your most recent Snaps.
To learn how to view these Snaps in 3D, watch this video:
Snaps captured with Spectacles will appear alongside Snaps you’ve saved on Snapchat — but they’ll have the Spectacles logo in their upper-left corner. Snaps that already have 3D enabled will have a button on the lower-left corner. You can use the scrollbar to quickly scrub through all your saved Snaps.
Photos
Tap on a Snap to view it fullscreen. By default, photos captured on Spectacles 3 will import in 2D. To enable 3D, tap the button at the bottom. Now you can move your phone to get a deeper look at the moment, swipe to add 3D effects, and more!
On Wi-Fi, it may take a few seconds to convert a photo into 3D for the first time. If you’re not on Wi-Fi, it may take a bit longer.
To turn your 3D photo 2D, just tap the button again.
Swipe down to exit fullscreen mode, or swipe left or right to see other Snaps.

Press and hold on the Snap, and then tap ‘Edit’. In the Edit mode, you can move your phone to get a deeper look at the moment, swipe to add 3D effects, and more!
Swipe down to exit fullscreen mode, or swipe left or right to see other Snaps.
Memories
While viewing photos and videos captured with Spectacles, you can also edit and send them the same way you’d would with Snaps taken with your phone.
In Memories, tap the button in the upper-right corner (or press and hold on a Snap) to enter ‘Selection Mode’. If you’re on iOS, you can can select multiple Snaps to create a new Story. These Stories can be found in the 'Stories' tab, and will automatically be sorted and labeled based on when those Snaps were taken.
If your Story includes Snaps from across multiple days, you’ll see a date range instead of a single date. You can also combine Snaps captured with Spectacles and Snaps taken with your phone into a single Story.
You can also export Snaps and Stories, and share them outside of Snapchat on other platforms. At the moment, you can only export Stories that have 20 Snaps or less.
You may receive the following error message if 3D is unavailable: “3D Effects couldn't be enabled on this Snap. It could be too dark, or too close or far from a subject.” If this happens, you won’t be able to convert that Snap into 3D. Try finding better lighting, or adjusting how far you are from your subject!.
