Spectacles Settings
You access settings for your Spectacles on the Spectacles App or by navigating to “Settings” on the back of your left hand when using Spectacles
On the Spectacles App select the Spectacles icon in the top left corner.
Your Spectacles
Volume Control: Adjusts the volume of the speakers
Brightness: Adjust the brightness of the 3D images Spectacles creates. Changing the brightness while auto brightness is on will disable auto brightness until the device goes to sleep.
Tint: You can select to have either tinted or un-tinted lens, which will change how easily you can see both experiences and the rest of the world through your Spectacles. Changing the tint while auto tint is on will disable auto tint until the device goes to sleep.
Network
Wi-Fi Network: From here you can view your current network, and open your Wi-Fi settings and change or join a new network.
Device Information
Software Update: When an update is available you’ll see a notification here. Read more about updating Spectacles here.
Device Name: As part of onboarding you can select a name for your Spectacles, if you need to change that at any time you can do so by selecting Device Name and making the update.
Spectacles Captures
Capture import notification: After you’ve captured a video or image you’ll have a notification in this section of your settings, reminding you to import your captures.
Capture Download: Images and videos captured with Spectacles will be imported directly to the photo library on your mobile device.
View in Photos: Selecting View in Photos will take you from the Spectacles App to the photo library on your mobile device. Once in your photo library you can open the Spectacles Album to view your captures.
Fit Adjustment
Eye Distance: Interpupillary distance (IPD) is the distance between the center of your eyes. Your Spectacles can be adjusted to better suit your IPD which should make your experience clearer and more comfortable. You can set your IPD as part of the onboarding process, but if you need to make any further adjustments you can do that here using the measuring lens (specific iOS devices only), or by scrolling to select the correct measurement in millimeters.
Display
Auto Brightness: When toggled on your Spectacles will automatically adjust and optimize the brightness.
Auto Tint: When toggled on your Spectacles will automatically adjust the tint of the lenses.
Auto Wake: By default Spectacles wake from sleep mode with a single tap of the button on the right temple, they will not wake from sleep mode when worn. You can toggle the wear sensor on here.
Auto Sleep: When not worn for 10 seconds your Spectacles will go into sleep mode. Sleep mode turns the cameras off to conserve power. You can adjust the time your Spectacles are unworn before going to sleep to any of: instant, 5s, 10s (default), 30s, 1m or disabled (meaning you will need to turn your Spectacles off manually when not in use).
Privacy & Security
Privacy Settings:
- Location Permission. By default your location information (precise location through methods like GPS signals) will not be collected unless you enable it in the Spectacles App. You can always disable this feature at any time in your Spectacles App.
- Camera and Microphone. When you pair your Spectacles device with your Spectacles App, access to the Camera and Microphone on your Spectacles device is required for it to operate. You can remove the Spectacles App’s access to the Camera and Microphone on your Spectacles device by stopping use of your Spectacles device.
- Delete your Captures. Images or video recordings that you have captured on your Spectacles device are automatically deleted from your device when you download your Captures using the Spectacles App.
- My AI. Conversations you have with My AI on Spectacles will be stored in Snapchat. To delete your My AI data you will need to go through the Snapchat app. See instructions here.
Support
Report an Issue: If you need support with your Spectacles, or have noticed a bug, we’d love to hear from you. After selecting Report an Issue you will be prompted to select the category of issue you would like to report and prompted to give further details of your experience, and add any relevant images.
Need Help?: Selecting Need Help? will open a browser inside the Spectacles App and route you to the Spectacles Support site.
Reset
Restart Spectacles: Restarting your Spectacles will perform a hard reboot. It will not delete any data on the device or unpair your device.
Log out and Unpair Spectacles: After completing this action you will need to repair your Spectacles to continue using it. It will not delete any data from your device, but will disconnect you from your Snapchat account.
Erase all Content and Settings: This will perform a Reset and unpair your device, clearing any adjustments you have made to settings. Any unimported captures will also be erased.
Additional Settings
From the settings menu tap the cog in the top right corner to access the additional Spectacles App settings which include the Developer Settings.
Developer Settings
Extended Permissions - Allow unrestricted access to your Spectacles camera and microphone, location, and the internet for experimental Lenses that you run. Be mindful that running third party experimental Lenses may pose risks to your personal data.
Note: to enable this feature you must also enable it in your Lens Studio project via the Experimental APIs).
Performance - The performance heads up display provides developers with a real-time performance monitoring tool, overlaid on their display, to analyze the efficiency of their Lenses.
Pairing - Pair your Spectacles with Lens Studio.
Reset Pairing Status - Unpair your Spectacles from the Lens Studio account they are currently paired with.

Help - Open the Spectacles support site for help with common issues and to raise queries with our support team.
