WARNINGS – READ BEFORE USING
Pay attention! Always use caution while using Spectacles for your safety and the safety of others. Spectacles’ camera, display, AR effects, audio, notifications, LED lights, and other features may distract you and increase the time it takes to react to hazards. Don’t use the Spectacles’ display, camera, audio, or other features in situations that require your full attention, or where distractions could put you or others in harm’s way. Be aware of potential falling, tripping, bumping, and breaking hazards around you as you use Spectacles, to avoid injury and property damage. Spectacles are not a toy and not intended for children. Don’t let minors use Spectacles without adult supervision. Spectacles are not intended for medical purposes and are not intended to diagnose, monitor, treat, cure, or prevent any disease or condition.
Use caution when using the Spectacles display and AR effects. Use the Spectacles display and AR effects only in a safe environment clear of obstacles (including furniture, lighting fixtures, pets, and open flames). Take regular breaks while using the Spectacles display, and don’t use the display for extended periods of time. Stop using Spectacles immediately if you experience dizziness, nausea, eye strain, motion sickness, or any other discomfort. Consult your doctor before using Spectacles if you are prone to seizures, pregnant, or have a serious medical, vision, or psychiatric condition.
Driving vehicles and operating equipment. Don’t use Spectacles while driving any vehicle, or while operating equipment that requires your full attention to avoid crash and other injury hazards.
Avoid facial injuries. Don’t wear Spectacles while participating in activities with risk of fall or impact, such as high impact sports and activities where you wouldn’t normally wear sunglasses. If you’re doing activities for which eye protection is advisable, use certified protective eyewear. If you experience skin irritation when using the product, reduce or discontinue use.
Medical devices interference. Spectacles contain magnets and other components that emit electromagnetic waves, which could affect the operation of medical devices such as pacemakers and other implantable devices, hearing aids, and insulin pumps. If you have an electronic medical device, consult your doctor or the device manufacturer before using Spectacles, and keep the Spectacles at an appropriate distance from the medical device. Stop using Spectacles immediately if you observe any interference with a medical device.
Air travel. Check applicable aviation security administration restrictions on personal electronics before flying with Spectacles. Rules may vary depending on the airline and the countries and regions where you are flying to/from. Spectacles contain lithium ion batteries, and should not be placed in checked luggage when flying.
Charging. Use only the provided charging cable (or appropriate USB-C cable) and an appropriate power adapter (18W or greater USB adapter recommended for optimal performance) to charge your Spectacles. Keep the charging areas on the Spectacles clear of debris and residue. Periodically inspect the charging cable for damage or signs of wear. Do not use your charging cable if any part is damaged or exposed.
Damaged Spectacles. To avoid potential injury, don’t wear or use damaged Spectacles. Don’t try to repair, open, or modify your Spectacles, or any of their components yourself. If they’re damaged, contact support.spectacles.com.
Overheating & Operating Temperature. It is normal for your Spectacles to experience a slight increase in temperature during normal use. Your Spectacles should not, however, cause thermal discomfort. If they do, stop using them immediately and contact support.spectacles.com. Spectacles are designed to operate between 32 and 96F (0 and 35C). Do not use Spectacles if the temperature is outside this range.
Electrical components. Your Spectacles contain electrical components, so follow the same precautions you would for any electronic device to avoid potential electric shock, overheating, and fire hazards. Don’t expose them to water or other liquids, and don’t use them near open flames or exposed electrical hazards, in extreme conditions, or if you see a leaking battery or battery damage. Don’t leave them exposed to a heat source or in a high temperature location. Don’t try to modify any part of your Spectacles, the case or any of their components.
Battery removal. Don’t attempt to remove or replace the battery in the Spectacles. Doing so can result in a safety hazard, including a risk of electrical shock, overheating, or fire.
