Factory Resetting your Next Generation Spectacles

You can use the Factory Reset to wipe any data on your new Spectacles, and it might be part of a troubleshooting step if you’re having a problem with your device. 

We’d really like to hear from you before you perform this step yourself so we can understand the problem you’ve encountered, but if you need to perform a Factory Reset, these are the steps:

The simplest way to perform the Factory Reset is through an option on your next generation Spectacles settings that you can find through Snapchat. 

Alternatively, you can perform the reset on the Spectacles:

1. ‘Forget’ your Spectacles (2021) on the Settings page
2. Press and hold both buttons for 30 seconds
3. Release when the 30s have elapsed and the purple internal LEDs are quickly blinking

If performed successfully the internal LEDs will pulse white. 

Note: You will need to re-pair your glasses after the factory reset - and you’ll have lost any Snaps on your next generation Spectacles that haven’t already been imported to Snapchat and backed up in Memories.
