Charging your New Spectacles
If your new Spectacles are running low on battery, you may not be able to pair them to your phone, take new Snaps or import Snaps you’ve already taken.
Charge your new Spectacles by plugging the Charging Cable directly to them and a USB power source. You can find the charging port on the end of the left arm of your Spectacles.
You can check the battery level of your new Spectacles by tapping on either temple and reviewing the front LEDs.
Your next generation Spectacles can also be charged on the go in the included Charging Case. It’ll hold up to four charges at a time, and take about 50 minutes to full recharge an empty next generation Spectacles battery.
To recharge the Charging Case, simply plug it into a Certified USB outlet with the included USB-C Charging Cable (or another certified USB-C cable). Remember, never charge your case from a power source that has a different power level - like a laptop computer.
You can ‘quick charge’ the Charging Case up to 50% in just 30 minutes, or leave it connected for 90 minutes for a full charge.
To check the charge level of your Charging Case, press the button on the side by the charging port. The LEDs will light up to tell you how many full charges remain, up to a maximum of four.
When your glasses are charging, the LED in the front of the glasses will be pulsing. Once the battery has reached 100% your Charging Case will stop charging your new Spectacles automatically - there’s no need to remove them from their case.
Still not charging?
Make sure the charging ports and connectors on your glasses and the Charging Case clear from dust or debris. Even if you don’t see any LEDs, leave the Cable connected to new Spectacles for at least 20 minutes. It may take some time for your glasses’ LEDs to light up.
If the Charging Case does not seem to be charging your glasses, try connecting the Charging Cable directly to your glasses. If they still aren’t charging, try a different power source or wall outlet.
If your glasses are not showing any signs of charging after 20 minutes, please try a Power Cycle.
My Charging Case isn’t charging!
Here’s how to reset your Charging Case.
Hold the button on the side of your charging case for 10 seconds.
If performed correctly the four LEDs will cycle back and forward to confirm.
Keep in mind your next generation Spectacles and its accessories are not waterproof or water resistant. Please do not expose them to any conditions which may allow water or other liquids to come in contact. Use the included cleaning cloth to wipe the glasses before placing them in their Charging Case.
Note: Please don’t attempt to remove or replace the battery in either your next generation Spectacles or their Charging Case. This could damage the battery, which could lead to overheating, fire, and injury. Since the product was designed for safe removal of batteries at end-of-life by a waste treatment facility, be sure to recycle them separate from your household waste according to your local environmental laws and guidelines.
