Data and My AI

Location Data and My AI

My AI on Spectacles only has access to your general location if you share it with Snapchat or chat about it with My AI. If you share your location with Snapchat, then it will be shared with My AI, even in Ghost Mode. Ghost Mode limits sharing your location with friends, not with the Snapchat app.

You can stop sharing your location data and clear your data with My AI to make My AI forget your location.

Note: My AI does not access or use Spectacles device location. 

 

To turn off location sharing with Snapchat...

On iOS:

  1. Open 'Settings' on your iOS device
  2. Scroll down "Privacy and Security"
  3. Tap 'Location Services'
  4. Scroll down to Snapchat
  5. Under "Allow Location Access", choose 'NEVER'

On Android:

  1. Long-press the Snapchat app icon
  2. Tap 'APP info'
  3. Tap 'Permissions'
  4. Tap 'Location'
  5. Choose to "DENY" location permissions

Note: If you recently changed your location permissions and turned them off, your location data may still be cached. To clear it, follow the steps here.

 

Deleting your My AI Data 

Conversations you have with My AI on Spectacles will be stored in Snapchat. To delete your My AI data you will need to go through the Snapchat app. 

To delete content shared with My AI in the last 24 hours 

  1. Download the Snapchat app if you haven’t already (iOS, Android)
  2. Open Snapchat
  3. Navigate to chat and your conversation with My AI
  4. Long-press the message you wish to delete in your chat with My AI
  5. Tap ‘Delete’


To delete all past content shared with My AI

 

On iOS 

  1. Download the Snapchat app if you haven’t already
  2. Open the Snapchat app
  3. Tap your Profile icon and tap ⚙️ to go to Settings
  4. Scroll down to "Privacy Controls"
  5. Tap 'Clear Data'
  6. Tap 'Clear My AI Data' and confirm

On Android 

  1. Download the Snapchat app if you haven’t already
  2. Open the Snapchat app
  3. Tap your Profile icon and tap ⚙️ to go to Settings
  4. Scroll down to "Account Actions"
  5. Tap 'Clear My AI Data' and confirm

Please note: It can take up to 30 days to delete the relevant My AI data from Snapchat servers.
